Technical Manager - Based in Bucharest

Job Spec
Under the supervision of the Eastern Europe Sales Manager in Romania, part of the international sales department division and to be based in Bucharest. We are hiring a Technical Manager to support the Afitexinov international sales team with coordination with the technical department in France. The daily workload will focus on geosynthetics applications in reinforcement and drainage in terms of technical specs, conceptual & detailed design solutions, highly technical presentations & industry leading technical white papers in the following target sectors: Public Works, Building Construction & Environmental within the civil engineering industry. The successful candidate is expected to carry out the following specific duties:
- Provide technical calculations to justify the use of products in target sector applications.
- Model & draft geosynthetic solutions using in-house or commercial software.
- Read specifications and technical drawings to identify the opportunities for our geosynthetics.
- Support sales teams in identifying solutions and developing their technical abilities.
- Continue their development and training to improve their knowledge and skills.
- Participate in product and/or applications development.
- Represent the company in territorial technical forums to gain knowledge and improve the company positioning in the technical marketplace.
- Produce PowerPoint presentations / technical white papers / technical notes to participate in the company and industry development.
- Accompany the commercial teams in some events to add technical value and content.
- Be acquainted with all design codes of practice, standards and theorems that have any relation to the products applications.
- Support sales and marketing teams in generating high level technical case studies and project references.
Education, Experience & Skills Required
Education:
Bachelor Degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Mining Engineering. Higher Education (Masters/PhD) would be an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 5-year experience in Civil, Geotechnical or Mining Engineering, preferably with design and site experiences.
- Knowledge of geosynthetics applications (advantageous)
- Experience in geotechnical design (advantageous)
Skills:
- Fluent in English, spoken and written is a must.
- Ability to integrate and apply technical knowledge in a friendly and clear manner.
- Other languages (Spanish, French) are advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
- High quality technical writeup using correct industry standard definitions and terminology.
- Problem solver with high level of analytical skills and a quick thinker.
- Organised, self-motivated, pleasant, calm and tenacious character.
Traveling:
- Must be available for travel (maximum 25% of their time).
